(From Simpson Funeral Home)Marcus D. McGinnis age 46 of Neosho, Missouri passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. He was born in Joplin, Missouri to Everett McGinnis and Carolyn (McReynolds) McGinnis on October 16, 1974.
Marcus worked at Howard’s Tire on Rangeline in Joplin before purchasing the business and then later moving it to North Main Street in Joplin and naming it McGinnis Tire.
He also loved to work on cars, but his favorite hobby was his sarcasm as all his friends and family will remember.
Marcus is survived by his mother, Carolyn McGinnis of Neosho; his children, Keesha Showalter and husband Jeremy of Joplin, DaShawn McGinnis of Oronogo, Drake McGinnis of Oronogo, Maggie McGinnis of Joplin; grandchildren, Iris, Sophie, Clayton and Kai Showalter, Kaegen Love, and Kavon Love; his sisters, Michelle Harrington and husband Brian of Carl Junction, Amanda Sanders and husband Kenny of Neosho; 3 nephews, Kyle and wife Mackenzie Sanders, Keaton, and Kolton Sanders all of Neosho; paternal grandmother, Ruth McGinnis; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his girlfriend, Janet Cusick of Oronogo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett McGinnis; paternal grandfather, Gene McGinnis, maternal grandparents, J.L. and Gay McReynolds.
Marcus’s wishes were to be cremated and his family will have a memorial visitation on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
