(From Ozark Funeral Home)Chester Leon Neel, 68 of Anderson, Missouri, was called to Heaven on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He began his journey on November 24, 1952 in Memphis, Texas, son of the late, Elmer William Neel and Lois Mae Hassell.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany, where he also served as the Minister for the Pentecostal Church. He worked in Lab and Xray in Halls County, Memphis, Texas.
He moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to pursue his wife, Sharon and they were married on September 13, 1980 in Lincoln, Arkansas. He worked at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Lab and Xray Department. Chester also worked as a sales representative for Reference Med Labs for the Springdale Hospital. Chester served 10 years on the City Council in Anderson, Missouri. He was a member of the American Legion Post #392. Chester was a dedicated member of the Pentecostal Church of Northwest, Arkansas in Rogers, Arkansas and was currently attending the Life Point Church in Joplin, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clarence Dale Neel.
Chester is survived by his loving wife 41 years of the home; a son, Matthew Neel of Anderson, Missouri; brother, Earnest Neel of Memphis, Texas; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Chester.
Funeral services for Chester will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 11, 2021 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Reverend Norman Hamby, Reverend Russell Hamby and Reverend Fred Oates will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time at the Funeral Home.

Graveside Services for Chester will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Coil-Center Cemetery in Winslow, Arkansas. Joe Hampton, Sam Hampton, Paul Hampton, Keith Neel, Jimmy Matthews and Jody Matthews will honor Chester’s life by serving as pallbearers.
