Jack Cooper

Jack Cooper, age 68, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at 12:53 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021, in the comfort of his home following an illness. He was born November 3, 1952, in Granby, Missouri, the son of Alvin and Ollie (Tuggle) Cooper. 

Jack married Phyllis Lewis on May 7, 1971. Jack was a lifelong Newton County resident and worked for Premier Turbine for eighteen years. He was a NASCAR fan, an avid bass fisherman, loved his ’51 and ’71 Ford trucks, and played the drums for over forty years. Jack will be remembered by many as the best papa ever!









Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, two daughters, Teresa (Chris) Moore of Ames, Oklahoma, Tanya Briggs of Carl Junction, Missouri; two brothers, Frank (Neomi) Cooper of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Ed (Gale) Cooper of Granby, Missouri; sister, Doris Rogers and her companion, Richard Warren of Smithville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Marilyn Cooper of Carthage, Missouri; five grandchildren, Devin (Megan) Moore, Ashlee Moore, Olivia Moser, Alexis Moser, and Danica Briggs.

In addition to his parents, his grandson Frank Kody Long and his brother, Fred Cooper, preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Clark Funeral Home in Granby, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in the funeral home. The family has requested in lieu of flowers; contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s hospital c/o Clark Funeral Home, Po Box 26 Granby, Missouri 64844
