(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mrs. Doshie Ree Burks Miller, 83 of Anderson, Missouri departed this life on October 13, 2021, at her home after an illness.
Doshie was born August 10, 1938, in DeRidder, Louisiana to the late Oscar O. and Louis Mandy (Gill) Burks.
Doshie lived in DeRidder until the age of 16 when she met her future husband Forrest in Lake Charles, LA while he was in the military. She and Forrest were married in 1955 in War Creek, KY his hometown, and to this union four children were born. The couple then moved to Highland, Michigan for 35 years where Doshie worked as a custodian at Huron Valley School four 8 years. They moved to Anderson, MO in 1990. Doshie enjoyed painting, quilting, ceramics and gardening.
Doshie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Forrest in 2006, a sisters Mary Lloyd and Wanda Brown, a brother Theale Burks and a daughter; Margaret Louise Miller.
Doshie is survived by two sons; Jerry Miller and wife Julie of Fenton Michigan, Steve Miller of Pierce City, MO a daughter Carol Edward and husband Rick of Columbus, KS, three brothers; Willie Burks of Atkins, AR, Dewight Burks and wife Elizabeth of DeRidder, LA and Roland Burks and wife Rose of Oakdale, CA, grandchild: Jessica Miller and two Great Grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service for Mrs. Doshie Ree Burks Miller will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Shannon Crystal officiating. In lieu of the flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
