(From Knell Mortuary)Ruth Pyle Platt, 84, wife of the late George C. Platt passed away at St. Luke’s Nursing Center on October 20, 2021, following a lengthy struggle with Congestive Heart Failure.
Ruth has two daughters, Catherine Platt of Carthage, and Ton Sankaburanurak Chaiyaroj, the family’s AFS student of Thailand. Ton's family makes their home in Palatine, IL.
Ruth was a homemaker and was active in her community. In past years, she was involved in local chapters of Altar Guild at Grace Episcopal Church, PEO, Garden Club, and Women’s Bowling League. She served during High Point, NC Furniture Market during the 1980s. In past years, the Platt Family hosted students thru AFS International Exchange Program and the Joplin International Piano Competition.
In her early career, she worked as an office manager for Carthage’s Ice and Cold Storage. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and sister and will be fondly missed by her family and friends.
