Pat Iverson

(From Parker Mortuary)

Patricia Ann Iverson, age 73, lifelong resident of Joplin, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Bates County Hospital after an eight month illness.

Pat was born January 18, 1948 in Joplin, and grew up in Joplin where she attended Joplin Schools. She worked as a cook for local restaurants including being manager for Rafters for some time before going to work for Freeman Hospital in the Kitchen. She retired after 35 years with Freeman this year.

She always had a smile on her face and was a joy to be around. She loved being with her church family at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She was active with several committees, and the dinners at the church. She was also known for her singing talent, both in the choir and solos at her church, or anywhere in Joplin that would ask her to perform. She was a true prayer warrior for both family and friends. She was a 25-year volunteer, with Heart to Heart. She was very involved with her grandchildren and loved her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin “Ivy” Iverson; mother, Julia Mae Palmer; daughter, Cassandra McGee, and a granddaughter, Amber “Abbie” McGee.

Survivors include her children, Vincent McGee, Albert McGee, Sheri Lynn McGee, and Angela Iverson all of Joplin; grandchildren, Alexzandra Iverson, Alize Iverson, Lashawn Davis, Ivy Iverson, Kennyata Davis, and Brandon Willis all of Joplin; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sandra Palmer also of Joplin.

Funeral service will be Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Villa Heights Christian Church with Pastors Samuel Nero, B. G. Roberson, and George Triplett officiating. Burial to follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with William Jackson, Deacon Payne, David Fields, Henry Pullam, Jr., Raymond Hugley, and Earl Cox, Jr. serving as pallbearers. Those serving as honorary pallbearers are Albert McGee, Vincent McGee, William “Boo” Richardson, James Hill, Sr., Bobby England, and Ivy Iverson.

The family will receive friends at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
