(From Parker Mortuary)Ginger G. Wade, 84, residing at Joplin’s Silver Creek Assisted Living passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Galena Nursing Center in Galena.
Ginger Wade, the daughter of the late Howard and Okle (Barnard) Geisler, was born on September 6, 1937, in her parents’ Galena home. She is survived by her sister, Betty Fogleman, of Kemp, Texas; sons and the families of Stephen and Curtis Wade of Joplin; and Troy Wade of Galena, Kansas, including seven grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ginger’s sunny disposition and engaging smile attracted people. When she pursued work outside her home, she blossomed in retail work at the Double Eagle, part time hostess for Olive Garden, Good Vibrations, and in the St. John’s hospital gift shop. She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church in Joplin and she pursued several volunteer opportunities with her church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell; her brother, Phil Geisler, two sisters: Juanita Darnell and Bonnie Pflug, and three grandchildren.
Ginger’s family wishes to express their appreciation for the medical staff of Freeman Hospital, Silver Creek Assisted Living, Galena Nursing Center and Compassus, a hospice provider.
Graveside committal of ashes will be held with a date to be announced. Please call the mortuary for more information.
