Chuck Williams

Charles Leon Williams, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by friends and family on October 18, 2021. Chuck was born October 1, 1946 in Monett, Missouri to Daniel and Wilma (White) Williams. He grew up in Independence, Missouri before graduating from East High School in 1964. Chuck then attended UMKC where he received his degree in traffic.

Chuck married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Deborah (Martin) on July 3, 1964. 








In the early stages of Chuck’s career he started out working for Sears and Southwest Trucklines before transitioning to Churchill Trucklines in Chillicothe, Missouri. In 1980 Chuck went to work for Wichita Southeast Kansas Transit Company and in 1983 he became co-owner. Chuck co-owned WSKT until 2005 when he retired and sold his business to Old Dominion Freight.
Chuck will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence and generosity.

Chuck was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served as President of the Congregation in the late 1990’s. Chuck’s hobbies included playing music with friends, stamp collecting, fishing, and canoeing.

He is preceded in death by both parents; Daniel Timothy Williams and Wilma Lorene (White) Williams.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Deborah; three children; Michael Timothy Williams (Laura Lee) of Joplin, Missouri, Peter Martin Williams (Heidi) of Joplin, Missouri, and Joseph Paul Williams (Deena) of Springfield, Missouri. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
