Mildred Lewis

Mrs. Mildred Jewell Lewis, of Stotts City, Missouri, daughter of the late Lawrence and Elva (Weldy) Lewis, was born on September 12, 1926 in rural Stotts City, Missouri. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center in Sarcoxie, Missouri, at the age of ninety-five years.

Mildred was a lifelong resident of the Stotts City area. 










On October 30, 1948 she was united in marriage to Donald Berkley Lewis. Together they shared fifty-seven years until his passing on July 21, 2006. Mildred retired after many years teaching for Pierce City and Sarcoxie Schools. She was a member of the Missouri Teacher’s Association as well as a past member of Downey Presbyterian Church. Mildred’s greatest joy was her husband and family. She enjoyed working on the family farm, sewing, baking and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Helen Leonard.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Pamela Campbell and husband, Jim, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jared Campbell and wife, Abbie and Jillian Curtis and husband, Chase, all of Sarcoxie, Missouri; great grand-children, Chloe Kerrigan, Allyson Darrow, Karson Campbell and Grayson Campbell; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lewis are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Union Cemetery, Stotts City, Missouri, with Pastor Kenneth Filsinger officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Union Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
