(From Daniel Funeral Home)Timothy Albert Timmons, age 69, of Lamar, Missouri passed away October 13, 2021, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri.
Tim was born November 12, 1951 in Lamar, MO., to Elmer Duffy Timmons and Frances "Billie" (Lean) Timmons. On November 25, 1978, Tim married Kay Lynn Phipps at Lamar Baptist Church in Lamar, MO.
Tim worked as a Para Professional in the Lamar R-1 School System and before that worked at O'Sullivan Industries for 25 years as a lamination supervisor, while working for the school, he spent 20 years coaching; assistant football coach for five years (1994/1995-1998-1999), assistant softball coach for six years (2001/2005-2009/2010), assistant baseball coach for ten years (2006/2007-2015/2016), assistant girls basketball coach for one year (2010/2011), middle school boys basketball coach for three years (2011/2012-2012/2013, 2019/2020), 9th grade boys basketball for two years (2015/2016-2016/2017) and head softball coach for eight years (2010/2011-2015/2016, 2019/2020-2020/2021).
Survivors include his wife Kay Timmons, three sons; Tyler (Kim) Timmons, Terin (Autumn) Timmons and Troy Timmons, all of Lamar, five grandchildren; Zoey Timmons, Samuel Timmons, Talon Timmons, Trypp Timmons and Wyatt Rodebush, one sister, Jan Luce of Lamar, and mother-in-law, Allene Phipps of Lamar.
Preceding Tim in death were his parents, one brother, Stan Timmons, father-in-law, Dale Phipps, brother-in-law, Jeff Phipps and brother-in-law, Jack Luce.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Oakton United Methodist Church in Oakton, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, before the service at the church.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to Lamar R-1 Schools (for the Special Olympics Athletes) in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
