Teresa Marquez

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Teresa Marie Marquez, age 49, of Neosho, Missouri, went to be with her Lord at 5:51 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, after losing her 5-year fight with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born January 5, 1972, in San Diego, California, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Helen (Hoyt) Ryan. On March 26, 2002, she married Manuel Marquez in Neosho.

Teresa was a phenomenal cook. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, helping people, whether it be through a phone call or one of the many prayer groups on Facebook.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Manuel; son, Ben Marquez, daughter, Anais Tistoj and her husband, Cristhian; one granddaughter, Catalina “Punkin” Tistoj, her pride and joy; one sister, Jennie Ogu; one brother, Kenneth Ryan, Jr., two nieces, four nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Teresa always had time for her nieces and nephews, and she was close to all of them. She has been there for all of them at some point in their lives. She loved all of them dearly and treated like they were her own. Teresa is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and countless cousins, still living in the area. She will miss her Littles and Xena.

Although Teresa was the youngest of her siblings, she was the glue that held the family together. She was loved by many and was always there no matter how she was feeling. She was a good wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunty, and friend. Her absence will be missed by each of them, daily.

Her parents preceded her in death, Mary in 2002 and Kenneth, Sr. in 2020.

Under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Gibson Cemetery, north of Neosho.
