Wanda Gilbert

Wanda Katherine Gilbert, age 98, of Seneca, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Seneca House following a lengthy illness. She was born July 14, 1923, in Baxter Springs, Kansas, the daughter of Roscoe Boswell and Alta (Brinkley) Williams. 

On August 23, 1941, she married Archie Gilbert in Neosho, Missouri, he preceded her in death on October 4, 1995. 








Wanda was a homemaker, she also worked for Big Smith, La-Z-Boy, after retirement she worked for Smith Food. She loved spending time with her beloved family, traveling, making ceramics in her home, and cake decorating, her specialties were wedding and birthday cakes. Wanda was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church for many years.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Betty (Darrol) Hurley of Fairland, Oklahoma, Jim (Kay) Gilbert of Neosho, Missouri, Ron (Patty) Gilbert of Stark City, Missouri, Jack (Donna) Gilbert of Seneca, Missouri, Randy (Cheryl) Gilbert of Neosho, Missouri; Twenty grandchildren; forty-nine great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Wanda’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Mike Gilbert, Roger Gilbert, Kenny Balls, Kurt Gilbert, Kaleb Gilbert, Vance Gilbert, Bob Coffey. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is John Wydick.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the Bethany Baptist Church in Neosho, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5:00- 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021, in the funeral home.
