Melvin Ellis

Melvin E. Ellis, age 80, passed away at his home in Wyandotte, Oklahoma on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 after battling cancer. Born on June 26, 1941 to Roy and Irene Ellis. He was the oldest of seven children, (five brothers and one sister).

Melvin married Sharon Kay Lee on July 28, 1962 at their home in Log City, Missouri. He started out working at Carthage Marble, then Ozark Engineering, CFI, and retired from Yellow Freight as a Teamsters over the road driver.








Melvin raised seven children, Rodney (Kim) Ellis of Neosho, Missouri, Cindy McKnight of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Timmy Ellis of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Trudy (Dave) Koons of Smithville, Missouri, Lysa Ellis of Miami, Oklahoma, Megan (Mike) Marengo of Kansas City, Missouri, and Casey Ellis of Wyandotte, Oklahoma. Melvin had 17 grandkids and 38 great- grandkids.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kindness for Kaysen Foundation in memory of his great-grandson Kaysen or Shriners Childrens in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Melvin are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Fidelity Cemetery.

A visitation will be held the night before at 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
