Cheryl Kinnear

(From Ulmer Funeral Home)

Cheryl Jean Kinnear, 70, of Carthage, MO, passed peacefully on October 16, 2021 at her home. She was born on August 29, 1951, in Girard, KS. She graduated from Girard High School, then went on to graduate from Fort Scott Community College and Pittsburg State University. Cheryl married the love of her life, Connie Kinnear, on January 26, 1973, and they shared 48 years together.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Connie; daughters, Cynthia Quinly (Scott) of Carthage, MO and Cassie Branscum (Jon) of Neosho, MO; grandchildren, Anniston and Ella Quinly and Colt and Titus Branscum; mom, Harriett Kern of Joplin, MO; and brother, Rodney Kern (Sandy) of Burns, TN.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Clarence (C.A.) Kern.
Cheryl loved her family and was a devoted wife and mom. She was a proud Shriner’s Lady. Her husband, Connie, has been an active Shriner for 30 years. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren in their activities. She enjoyed her miniature horses, Graci and Dillon, and had hoped to be able to ride and show their Quarter Horse, Peppa.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, MO., on Thursday October 21, 2021. A private graveside funeral will be held at a later date.

The family of Cheryl Kinnear suggests that in lieu of flowers donations in her memory be made to the Joplin Shrine Club in care of Ulmer Funeral Home, 1208 S. Garrison Ave, Carthage, MO 64836.
