Pauline Adams

(From Parker Mortuary)

Pauline Ruth (Anderson) Adams, Joplin, passed away peacefully October 18th. The beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was 79.

Pauline was born in Sedalia, Missouri, on October 20th, 1941, to Laura and Garland Anderson. She had ten siblings.

She was happily married to Jesse Harrison Adams for over 54 years, until his death in 2014. They owned and operated restaurants, truck stops, and convenience stores in the Sarcoxie and Sedalia areas.

A few years after retiring, Pauline grew restless and decided to work part-time at Target, where she remained until retiring permanently in 2015. She volunteered at area nursing homes for over ten years, generously providing assistance and companionship to many otherwise lonely and needy residents.

If you knew Pauline, you immediately loved and enjoyed her unique brand of humor and silly disposition (as shown in the whimsical photo). Playful kidding and teasing were the trademark of her personality. Her infectious laugh, kind smile, and loving heart will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Survivors include daughters Lia Adams, Joplin, and Mia Adams (Rachel), Kansas City; son Jerry Anderson (Sandi), Sedalia; grandchildren Kayla and Kyler Sehnert, Joplin; Justin and Brian Anderson, Sedalia; and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Pauline's life will be held at the family home October 23rd, anytime between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Private graveside services in Longwood, Missouri, are pending.
