(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mrs. Neoma Faye Schlessman, 79, of Anderson, Missouri, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.
Neoma entered this life on November 15, 1941, in Stella, Missouri, to the late Cecil Haddock and Wilma (Robertson) Haddock. She was raised and graduated high school in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, with the class of 1959.
In 1990, Neoma fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse. Neoma’s passion was to care for others. She worked at St. John’s in the hospital and their home healthcare division. She finished her RN career at McDonald County Health Department in 2008.
Neoma faithfully attended Banner Church of the Nazarene. She was a devoted Christian who loved our Lord and Savior. She was family oriented and loved time spent with them. She was invested in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and lives, rarely missing a game or event. She also loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals with Junior.
Neoma married the love of her life, Leon Junior Schlessman in Bethpage, Missouri, on March 17, 1960. They resided in Anderson, Missouri, most of their marriage. From this union four children were born, Tammy, Teresa, Michael and Rusty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammy Schlessman; two brothers, Leroy and Bob Haddock; and three sisters, Dorothea Parvin, Barbara Bartley and Kaye Middoux.
Neoma leaves behind her husband, Junior Schlessman of the home; three children, Teresa Wills of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Michael Schlessman and wife, Kristi, of Seneca, Missouri and Rusty Schlessman and wife, Mindy, of Neosho, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Wills, Nick Wills, Kaleb Schlessman and wife, Brianna, Darbey Pace, Myka Schlessman, Mylea Schlessman and Kenley Schlessman; one great grandson, Brecken Schlessman; as well as a host of other family and friends. Neoma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Dennis Bergen officiating. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery.

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Mark Bartley, Randy Bartley, Ronnie Haddock, Jeremy Burr, Tommie Wright and Dan Krohn.
