Janie Brandon

Marilyn Jane (Janie) Brandon, 76, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 25th, 2021.

Janie was born June 26th, 1945 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Frank and Mary Pauline (Busick) Ackerson. Janie was a lifelong area resident graduating from Joplin High School in 1963.

Janie was united in marriage to Charles Brandon on November 4th, 1966 in Joplin, Missouri. Together they shared 54 precious years before her passing.








Janie worked many years as a receiving clerk for the local Skaggs store. She also worked side by side with her husband at their tire shop, OK Tire Service. Janie was a hard worker and always placed the needs of others first. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her trips to the Casino, and had a huge heart. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world. She cherished all the memories created with family and friends. Janie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Janie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Ackerson, Billy Ackerson, Danny Ackerson; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ackerson, Cora Ackerson; nephew, Jerry Adamson, Jr.

Janie is lovingly survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Melissa Jones and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Tiffany Lloyd and fiancé, Davy Blair, Zachary Jones and wife, Chelsea; great grandchildren, Avery, Abigail, Payton, Olivia; siblings, Sally Adamson and husband, Jerry, Frankie Ackerson; step-granddaughter, Madison Mitchell and significant other, Joe Barnes; step-great grandchildren, Ava, Axton; fur baby, Tucker; together with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Shane Dotson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday at the mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow the service at Saginaw Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
