Jeri Hibdon
(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Geniva Jearldine “Jeri” (Maynard) Hibdon, age 81, of Carthage, MO passed away Tuesday, October, 19, 2021 at Mercy Hospital Joplin, after a two year decline in her health.
Jeri was born May 18, 1940 in Sarcoxie, MO to Raymond Fremont and Mamie Lucille (George) Maynard. She graduated Carthage High School in the class of 1958 and on November 20, 1959 she married Reggie Hibdon in Garden Grove, CA, and together they raised four children.
Jeri operated a daycare for several years in her home. She owned and operated Jeri's Fashion Boutique on the Carthage Square for several years. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed sewing for her granddaughters, and had made dresses for several weddings. She was a collector of tea pots and tea sets, as well as other collectibles. She was a longtime member of Grace Pointe Assembly and Evangel Assembly, and she was currently a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years; one son Roger (Catherine) Hibdon, Carthage, MO; three daughters, Deletta (Bob) Cummins, Carthage, MO, Deanne (Randy) Scott, Carthage, MO and Denise (Craig) Daniel, Diamond, MO; three brothers, Ray (Patty) Maynard, Hesperia, CA, Dale (Glenda) Maynard, Jenks, OK, Rick (Stella) Maynard, Carthage, MO; one brother-in-law, Roy Shelvey, Carthage, MO; eight grandchildren, Brooke (Matt) Robinson, Brittiany (Mike) Nixon, Blair (Brett) Dance and Brynn (Brock) Skaggs, Kyler (Lauren) Scott, Kayley (David) DeLeon, Ashlyn Daniel, Aspen Daniel, a grandson-in-law, Geraldo Mojica and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Judy Shelvey, two granddaughters, Alyssa Daniel and Brandi Mojica, and one great-grandson, Archer Lambeth.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Crossroads Baptist Church, Carthage with a private family burial to follow in Jasper Cemetery.
There will be no formal visitation, but friends can pay their respects and sign the book from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at Ulmer Funeral Home.
