Shirley Flenniken

Shirley Violet Flenniken, 86, passed away into the arms of the Lord, Wednesday June 9, 2021 at her home. Shirley was born in Moberly, MO to Roy and Violet “Briggs” Baker. She was a lifetime Jasper county resident. 

Shirley was united in marriage to Carl Le Roy Flenniken March 5, 1954 in Jasper, MO. 



Shirley joined Carl in San Diego California where he served in the Navy, they moved back home where she worked at the Carthage press, then to the family farm where she worked alongside her husband milking cows, farming and raising their family. She is a member of the CenterPoint Christian Church, volunteered at the March of Dimes. Shirley was known for her quick wit.

Shirley is survived by four sons Jerry Flenniken, Doug Flenniken and wife Carla, Greg Flenniken and wife Patricia, Roger Flenniken and wife Vickie, one daughter Sherry Evans and husband Lonnie. 16 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and one on the way and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren and one on the way.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Carl Le Roy Flenniken July 9, 2016, 1 brother Forest Baker, 5 sisters Edna York, Pearl Kellogg, Mel Dennen, Eva Willard, Edi Stoker.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to service time. Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday June 12, 2021 at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Fasken Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made to www.ulmerfh.com

Services are under the care and direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.

The family will be receiving guests at the family farm following internment.
