(From Parker Mortuary)Candace Julia Brown, age 24, of Carl Junction, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Candace was born in Joplin on January 22, 1997 to Weldon and Paula (Clifton) Brown. She grew up and attended school at Carl Junction and graduated from Carl Junction High School in 2015.
Candace was the highlight of her family and loved when everyone was together for family barbecues. Candace earned numerous medals from participating in the Special Olympics. She earned gold, silver, and bronze medals from participating in events as the long jump, 100-meter dash, and softball throwing, but earned her spot to compete in state competition in bowling. She loved to dance and sing to all genres of music with country music and George Strait being one of her favorites. Her smile, her laughter, and her dancing will be missed by all who knew her.
She is lovingly survived by her parents, Weldon and Paula Brown; her brothers, Robby Brown, and his wife, Desiree, of Carterville, and Brandon Brown, and Jessica, of Carl Junction; grandfather, Robby Clifton, and his wife, Betty, of Texas; her nieces and nephews, Alyssa Brown, Alexis Brown, Robby Brown Jr., Mason Brown, Isaac Brown, Logan Brown, Layla Brown, and Lakyn Brown; Uncles, Marshall Clifton, Emory Clifton, and Tony Clifton, and his wife, Sandy, all of Texas; Aunts, Rita Fuller, of Carl Junction, Darlene Henson, and Pam Roberts, both of Texas; and numerous extended family members and friends who loved her.

Candace was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Helen Clifton and Betty Brown; and one aunt, Becky Melin.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, with a time of visitation to follow funeral services. Private family burial to be held at a later date.
