(From Parker Mortuary)Jacqui Lynn Shannon Watkins, age 56, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at her home after a sudden illness.
Jacqui was born June 28, 1965 in Monahans, Texas, daughter of the late Edward Shannon and Wilma D. Shannon. She grew up in Joplin and graduated from Memorial High School.
She worked for an assisted living facility in Pittsburg, Kansas, working in the kitchen, and most recently was working in Teleperformance of Joplin.
She was also a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Jacqui enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, cooking, and listening to music. She will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Jacqui was preceded in death by; brothers, Briant “Grady” Thomas, Jeffery Thomas, Edward Shannon; grandmother, Clara Moore; a cousin, Janice Shannon.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Lee Watkins, Jr. of Joplin; son, Zentrell Padre Shannon; daughter, Natasha L. Shannon both of Joplin; six grandchildren, Keonna Logan, Dejia Logan, Kianna Logan, Nariyah Logan, Zakiah Shannon, and Amiyah Shannon; sisters, Camilla S. Smith, Joy Shannon, Linda Thomas, and Glenda Thomas all of Joplin; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
