Retha Moser

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Retha E Fitzjohn Moser, 90, of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in Joplin, Missouri.

She was born February 1, 1931, in Lawton, Kansas to the late Ralph Hulen Fitzjohn and Maggie Elizabeth Betz Fitzjohn. She married John Ray Moser on October 10, 1947, in Joplin, Missouri where she resided her entire life.

Retha will always be remembered for her sense of humor and love for her family. Friday nights she could often be found cooking a big meal for everyone or sitting in the stands at a sporting event for one of her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and was known to have the nicest yard in the area; if you could not get ahold of her, it was likely she was on her Snapper mower in her big sunhat piddling around the yard.

She is survived by six children, Linda Kennedy of Carl Junction, Missouri, Deloris Morgan of Kansas City, Missouri, Sandy Sowder (Danny) of Asbury, Missouri, John Moser Jr. (Cindy) of Joplin, Missouri, Norma Ulmer (Greg) of Asbury, Missouri, Julie Michel of Joplin, Missouri; grandchildren, Chris Kennedy (Tina), Curtis Kennedy (Angela), Lori Morgan, Lindy Morgan (James), Missy Jones (Rick), Rick Sowder (Marti), Justin Ulmer, Katy Privett (Stephen), and John Michel; as well as a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three siblings, and two grandsons.
