(From Parker Mortuary)Barbara Jean Roush, age 85, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Barbara, daughter of the late James E. and Ethel (Hawkins) Giles, was born on October 6, 1936 in Joplin. She was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Joplin High School.
Soon after high school she met Wilbur Dean Roush, after he returned from the Air Force, they were united in marriage on November 2, 1957 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2018.
Barbara worked for several years in sales at Newman’s Department Store and then as a school secretary for Parkwood High School. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always gave of her time and heart. She will be missed by her family and those that knew her.
Survivors include her son, Randall Roush, of Joplin; two grandsons, Nathan Roush, of Wisconsin, and Matthew Roush, and his wife, Nicole, of Arizona; great grandchildren, Cohen and Sophie Roush, both of Wisconsin, and Weston Roush, of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Russell Roush, in 2011.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin
