Amos E. Letts, 81, of Goodman, Missouri passed away at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri after a sudden illness.
He was born on July 19, 1935 in Granby, Missouri to the late William E. and Margaret (Mahurin) Letts. He married Beulah Howard on June 22, 1956 in Joplin, Missouri and to this union five children were born. Amos had worked for Mon Kem in Joplin, Missouri for 19 years, Ragland Mills in Neosho, Missouri for 20 years, Larry Neff in Neosho, Missouri for 18 years. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.
Amos is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beulah Letts of the home; four sons, Donnie Letts and wife, Nancy, Eric Letts and his wife, Carletta, Michael Letts of the home and Jason Letts; a daughter, Janet Powell; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; his four legged pets, Smokey, Choppie and Maggie; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Amos.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Letts; his parents; five brothers, Everett, Lloyd, Floyd, Edman and Bob; four sisters, Blanche, Edna, Gladys and Bonnie.
Funeral services for Amos will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Pastor Keith Jackson will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends at this time.
