Ricky Foster

Mr. Ricky Dene Foster, 46, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at his residence.

Ricky entered this life on March 22, 1970, in Carthage, Missouri. He was raised in the Carthage and Joplin area, graduating from Joplin High School in 1988. He received his degree in law enforcement from Missouri Southern. He also attended Crowder College’s Fireman and EMT program. Ricky served twelve years as a Deputy Sheriff in McDonald County and was a Volunteer Fireman in McDonald and Newton County. He served his country in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, K-9 training, reading, social media, computer gaming and was an avid Star Wars enthusiast.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Felicia Denise Foster of Joplin; a granddaughter, Alana Denise Shaw; his mother, Sondra June Moran of Joplin; maternal grandparents, Walter and Jessie Lowe of Carthage, Missouri; a sister, Angela Nicole Pierce of Joplin; a nephew, Alexander Dean Pierce; his beloved dog, Dusty Fog; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Ricky are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
