Stanley E. 'Stan' Honey, age 61, Webb City, passed away at 3:12 a.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his home.
Stan was born April 26, 1955 in Joplin to Wanda Bennett Honey and the late Charles Honey and had lived in the area all of his life.
A 1973 graduate of Carl Junction High School, he worked for Honey Farms until 1982 before joining Empire District Electric Company as a lineman. Stan worked 30 years for Empire and had plans to retire in February and continue to farm with his sons.
Stan worked hard all of his life. He was a Christian, loved to spend time with his family, enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball and was a fan of Northwest Missouri State football.
He married the love of his life, Connie Flinn on February 14, 1975 in Joplin. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include his children, Mike Honey, Webb City, Josh Honey and his wife, Kim, Carl Junction, Sarah Allison and her husband, Michael, Vinita, Oklahoma; his mother, Wanda Honey, Webb City; grandchildren, Dalton Honey, Sage Honey, Lydia Honey, Luke Honey, Harper Allison, Gentry Allison, Minnie Honey; a cousin, Vicki Williams and husband, John, Niece, Elaina Flinn; and several other extended family members including, Bill Hurl, Neck City.
In addition to his father, Stan was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Honey; and grandparents, Earl and Fern Bennett and Gerald and Mary Honey.
Services are planned for Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Christ's Church of Oronogo. Rick Flinn and Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Whitehead, Steven Taylor, Frank Petty, Bob Beyer, Bill Hurl, Randy Fletcher, Johnny Williams and William Hurl. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the NRA or to Watered Gardens, both in care of Parker Mortuary.
