Harold Edward Rolleg, age 97 of Joplin, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following an extended illness.
Harold was born on June 27, 1919 in Joplin to the late Ulysses Grant Rolleg, Sr. and Zella May Ash Rolleg. He was a 1937 graduate of Joplin High and then enlisted in the United States Army shortly after. Harold worked three seasons as a professional baseball player with the Detroit Tigers Farm System. Later, he retired after 25 years from the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Carrier.
Harold married Mary M. Dieterich on February 13, 1947 in Monett, Missouri. She survives in Joplin.
Additional survivors include a son, Martin E. Rolleg and wife, Barbara of Spring Branch, Texas; daughters, Marcia Holme and husband, Robert of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Marla Hufford and husband, Richard of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Other than his parents, Harold is preceded in death by a brother, Grant Rolleg, Jr. and a sister, Marjorie Rolleg.
Graveside services are planned for Saturday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
