Ed Autry

Mr. Edwin Hobson “Ed” Autry, 64, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 20, 2016, peacefully in his own home.

Ed was born on October 2, 1952 in Joplin to the late Elnora and Walter Autry. In his lifetime, Ed was a successful, educated man. He graduated high school in 1971 from Parkwood High School and continued his education by obtaining a B.S. from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). Ed was employed for 25 years at Midwestern Machinery followed by nearly 20 years at Tamko Building Products as a sales representative.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Walter Autry.

Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Marcia Autry; two sons, Greg and Thomas Autry; two younger sisters, Mary Smolik and Rebecca Autry; as well as his younger brother, Whit Autry.

Memorial visitation is Monday, December 26, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Joplin Humane Society to honor Ed’s love of animals. Online condolences may be made on our website www.thornhilldillon.com.
