Vickie Elizabeth Ginder, age 64 of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin following an extended illness.
Vickie was born on August 2, 1952 in Sacramento, California to Ernest W. Werner and Fran Yuhre Foster. She graduated in 1969 from C.K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento and continued her education throughout her life. While living in California, Vickie worked for the Department of Corrections and Sprint Telephone. After moving to Missouri, Vickie worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation as a Computer Programmer, plus several other duties she was always willing to take on. Vickie loved to knit and spend quality time with her grandchildren.
On May 10, 2002, she married Robert C. Ginder in Reno, Nevada. Bob survives of the home.
Additional survivors include sons, Shawn Sterken of Portland, Oregon, Frank Sterken of Joplin; step children, Jared Reese and wife, Sandi of Mt. Home, Arkansas, Sunshine Yates and husband, Ryan of Allen, Texas, Justin Ginder and wife, Terri of Susanville, California; mother and step-father, Chuck and Fran Foster of Cameron Park, California; step-sisters, Tami Schmalz and Terri Lindsey; brother, Jack Werner and wife, Mary of Elk Grove, California.
Vickie is preceded in death by her biological father, Ernest Werner who passed away while Vickie was very young.
A memorial visitation will take place on Sunday, December 18, from
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
