Wilburn Harden

Wilburn Albert Harden, age 83 of Grove, Oklahoma, went to his heavenly home on Monday, December 12, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, from injuries sustained in a fall.

Wilburn was born July 17, 1933 in Paris, Arkansas to the late Arley Harden and Mary Lou Zalen Curtis Harden. Wilburn served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later retired from Boeing in Wichita after 35 years as a Machinist. Serving the Lord was Wilburn's number one priority. He served as an Elder for Mulvane Church of Christ and was also a long time member of Newman Road Church of Christ in Joplin, Missouri. Wilburn enjoyed fishing and hunting and was known for shooting one of the highest scoring bucks in the state of Arkansas. Another passion and joy was his 1937 Chevy that he enjoyed driving around.

On October 6, 1956, Wilburn married Martha M. Cox in Miami, Oklahoma, she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include sons, Phillip E. Harden and wife, Leigh and Leonard A. Harden and wife, Leianne, both of Derby, Kansas; sisters, Helen Taylor of Beebe, Arkansas and Floy Hough and husband, Robert of Maricopa, Arizona; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.

Wilburn was preceded in death by brothers Jesse Furr, William Harden, George Harden, James Harden and sister Lola Herman.

Funeral services are planned for Saturday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary with a visitation to follow. Burial will take place on Monday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Derby, Kansas.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
