Elizabeth J. Summerlin died December 28, 2016 at Seneca House Nursing Home in Seneca, following a lengthy illness at the age of 78.
Elizabeth was born Jan. 18, 1938 in Noel, Missouri, the daughter of Wm. R. and Laverne (Gossman) White. She was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a nurses aid at Gravette, AR and was co-owner of Kilmer Grocery in Noel. She enjoyed gardening, birds, flowers and music, but most of all, she enjoyed her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anderson.
Elizabeth married Oscar Summerlin in July of 1956 in Tulsa, OK and he survives. Also surviving are three children, Debra Jean Bingham of Goodman; Darrell L. Summerlin and wife, Linda of Riverton, WY and Shirley C. Breeden and husband, Charles of Goodman; two step children, Judy Kilmer and Tom Kilmer; a brother, Harry E. White and wife, Lela of Raytown, MO and a sister, Shirley A. O’Bryan of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husband, Homer Kilmer; brother in law and sister in law, Norman and Freda Kilmer and close friends, Jan and Harry Ameioat.
