Lee Nutting

Howard Leroy “Lee” Nutting, entered this world on October 20, 1955, the son of Clyde and Jane (Cox) Nutting, in El Dorado, Kansas. He departed this life on December 19, 2016, at his home in rural McDonald County Missouri, at the age of 61 years.

He spent his childhood in several different towns including Great Bend, Kansas, where he attended most of his grade school years into high school moving to Bogue, Kansas in 1973 and graduating from Bogue High School in 1974. He followed in his father's footsteps working in the oilfields of Kansas and for Haliburton in Kansas and Cairo Egypt. He married Kimberla Stephen March 12, 1983 and to this union two children were born, Stephanie and Marcus. They later divorced and Lee married Jane E. Massey on August 14, 1993. In 1998, he and Jane moved to SW Missouri, where he worked for Moark and then Simmons in Southwest City, Missouri until May of 2016. Lee was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge #281, Hill City, KS. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He always liked a good joke and even practical jokes played on him and on others by him. He thoroughly enjoyed becoming a grandfather, spending time with them, teasing them, and being called "Grandad." He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry and Jeffrey "Steve." He is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; daughter Stephanie Lang and husband, Tyson, of Hays, Kansas; son Marcus and wife, Morgan, of Cherokee, Kansas; five grandchildren, Gavin Nutting, Ganessa and Garrett Lang and Keyli and Raiden Nutting; sister Pam Beckman and husband, John, of rural Miami, Oklahoma; brother Terry of Anderson, Missouri; uncle Bobby Ramsey and wife, Kay, of Lamar, Missouri; aunt Dorothy Nutting of Seneca, Missouri; loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as other family members and good friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Mr. Nutting are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Jared Proctor officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Family and friends will gather at the Tiff City Community Building following the service for a time of fellowship. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the Wildhorse Cemetery in Bogue, Kansas. Honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Tyson Lang, Marcus Nutting, Gavin Nutting, Mark Fabricus, Nathan Hart and Lyle “Butch” Billips. Following the graveside a meal will be served at the Bogue Methodist Church Dining Hall for those family and friends in attendance. Memorials are being directed to the Hill City Masonic Lodge #281 and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
