Kenneth C. West, age 81, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Thursday December 29, 2016, at Freeman hospital, following an illness.
Kenneth was born on August 4, 1935 in Joplin, the son of the late Charles and Lilly Mae (Endicott) West. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was the administrator of Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Mo., retiring in 1997. He was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church.
He married Clara Larkin in 1956 in Miami, Ok., and she survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Gregory West, Farmington, Mo., and Kerry C. West, Rolla, Mo.; three sisters, Dixie Boyd-Carter, Joplin, Mary Stringer, Joplin, and Pat Booe, Tyler, Tx.; seven grandchildren, Kyle West, Jordan West, Sydney Edwards, Terry West, Ryan West, Emily West and Dennis Carroll; and three great-grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Kenneth “Skip” West.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Forest park Baptist Church. Reverend John Swadley will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at Forest Park Baptist Church.
