Dorothy Nutting

After an extended illness, Dorothy Lou (Watson) Nutting, 83 of Seneca, Missouri formerly of Anderson, Missouri, peacefully left this earth on December 25, 2016 for her heavenly home. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy was born March 16, 1933 to the late Howard Edward & Jewel Christeen (Long) Watson on Cowskin Prairie, near Grove, OK. She attended the rural school of Starr before moving to Grove Public Schools her ninth-grade year. After graduation from Grove High School in 1952, she married Sherman R. Nutting, and they had two children: Howard Ray Nutting and Linda Diane Nutting. Dorothy was a homemaker, a beloved mother & sister, a member of Tiff City Willing Workers, and active in the Buffalo Creek Baptist Church. She loved people and loved to visit with family and friends. Her warm visits will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; she is survived by her son Howard & wife Tracy, her daughter Linda, and her sister Christeen & brother-in-law Don Hoose, her grandchildren Brandie Washam & husband Nathan, Jason Harp, Candace Nutting, Hailey Nutting, Jesica Keith, Katie Woodard & husband Derek, Cassie Banks & husband Luke, and thirteen great-grandchildren, along with nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Buffalo Creek Baptist Church in Tiff City, Missouri, Brother Jared Proctor and Fred Mills will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Visitation will held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends at this time. Memorial contributions may be given to the Buffalo Creek Baptist Church in loving memory of Dorothy in care of the funeral home.
