Rex Dean Hopkins of Miami, OK passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was 66.
Rex was born May 20, 1950 in Columbus, KS to Robert and Francis (Still) Hopkins. He had lived in Miami for 6 years, moving from Galena, KS. He was an electrician and welder for Eagle-Picher Industries in Jolin, MO. Rex served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Baxter Springs and Friends of Vietnam Veterans Era.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Hopkins of the home, his son, Wade Hopkins of Riverton, KS, his daughter, Michelle Hopkins and Mike Hamill of Columbus, KS, 2 brothers, Mike Hopkins of North Miami, OK and Robert Hopkins of Mesa, AZ and 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate. Interment will be in Lowell Cemetery in Lowell, KS with military honors by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team.
