Lucy Martin

Mrs. Lucy Mae Martin, 73, of Jane, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Christmas morning, December 25, 2016, while visiting family in Mabelvale, Arkansas.

Lucy entered this life on October 23, 1943, in Joplin, Missouri, the only child born to the union of the late Clinton and Ruth (Elliff) Mosier. She was a lifelong area resident and a 1961 graduate of Pineville High School. She furthered her education at Joplin Junior College and the University of Arkansas, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in business. On July 10, 1965, in Joplin, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William C. “Bill” Martin and together they have shared the last fifty-one years. From 1965 to 1999 she served as a business consultant with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. Lucy loved her community. She volunteered with White Rock Fire Department, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance as well as other various community organizations. Lucy was very talented and enjoyed several hobbies including various forms of needlework, gardening, and traveling. She loved helping others and was always optimistic and positive about the world around her. She will be missed by many.

Lucy is survived by her husband, Bill Martin of the home; several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Memorial services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Visitation will follow the service until 3:00 p.m. Following the services there will be a get together at the Jane Store for friends and family with food and snacks. Memorials are being directed to the Myositis Association and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
