Betty Jean Ritchie, 83, passed away December 21, 2016 in Springfield, Missouri. Betty was born July 13, 1933 in Carthage to Noah Dixon and Eva “Stillabower” Dixon. She was a lifetime resident of Carthage, worked at Big Smith Manufacturing for over 20 years and was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church.
Betty was united in marriage to Leroy Ritchie on January 3, 1951 in Reeds, Missouri; he preceded her in death on March 18, 2000. Betty is survived by one daughter, Glenda Millikan and husband Doug of Bois D’ Arc, Missouri, two sons Wayne Ritchie and wife Jacqueline of Houston, Texas and Doug Ritchie and wife Jackie of Carl Junction. She is survived by three sisters, Hazel Estes of Carthage, Delores Frazier of Buena Vista, Arkansas and Dorothy Peacock of Buffalo, Missouri. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 28th at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27th at Ulmer Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
