Imogene Huffman, age 80, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Mercy Hospital of Joplin.
Imogene was born July 21, 1936 in Buffalo, Missouri, daughter of the late Cecil Gillion and Rena Piper Gillion. She graduated from high school, and worked for the Joplin School District in the Dietary Department as a cook. She was a member of Peace Tabernacle, and also attended Life Point Pentecostal Church.
She married Coy Huffman on September 19, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharyl Pierce, sisters, Mary Ellen Taylor, Ada Ruth Crunkleton, Glenda Johnson.
Survivors include her children, Joyce Easterling of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Steve Huffman and wife Peggy of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Johnny Huffman and wife April, Eli McGintha, Sarah Roelofsen, Amanda Huffman and husband Joe, Curt Pierce; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at Life Point Pentecostal Church, 1700 Prosperity Road, Joplin with Rev. Frank Buchanan, Sr. and Rev. Fred Oates officiating. Interment of her ashes will be at a later date in Belfast Cemetery, Neosho, Missouri.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
