John P. Burrington, Jr., age 72 of Carthage, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.
John was born on July 4, 1944 in Joplin to the late John P. Burrington, Sr. and Naomi N. Wyrick Burrington. He was a 1962 graduate of Joplin High School. John owned and operated Burrington Window and Glass in Webb City, Missouri for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Monica Klingensmith and husband, Kevin of Joplin; son, David Burrington of Joplin; step-son, Charles Kimmerer of Joplin; grandchildren, Chelsea Day and husband, Robert of Joplin, Alan Smith of Joplin, Marah Johnston and husband, Matthew of Bentonville, Arkansas and Brandon Burrington of Webb City; long time companion, Vicki Franklin of Joplin; niece, Nicole Lee-Sye of Joplin and a nephew, Chad Burrington, also of Joplin.
Other than his parents, John is preceded in death by a son, Jason Burrington and a brother, Paul Burrington.
A committal of ashes will take place on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery Open Air Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
