Estel Stout

Estel Mae Stout of Anderson, MO, 99, departed this life December 7, 2016, following a recent decline in health. She was born January 27, 1917 in Elvins, Missouri, the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Bayless Wilkerson. While she was a teenager, she relocated with her family to Canadian County, Oklahoma.

She was united in marriage to Wesley Stout on June 8, 1940 near Calumet, OK. They were married 74 years before his passing March 29, 2014. They lived in El Reno, OK, until 1957 when they moved to their corner of paradise on a farm in Beeman Hollow near Anderson, MO. Many loving family memories have been made on that farm.

At the age of 52, Estel graduated with the first Licensed Practical Nursing class at Crowder College in Neosho, MO. She was a nurse at Sale Memorial Hospital in Neosho, touching many lives through her compassionate caring. At about age 55, she took her first oil painting class, becoming an exceptional artist through her remaining years. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed doing needlework. Estel was a dedicated member of Splitlog Baptist Church. She was a woman of unwavering faith.

She was preceded in death by brothers Harold Wilkerson, Omaha, NE, Roland “Bub” Wilkerson, Maud, OK, Glenn Wilkerson, Oakwood, OK, and E.J. Wilkerson, Granbury, TX.

Estel is survived by son, Clyde Stout and wife Madonna of Joplin, MO., and daughter, Margaret Hall and husband Gene of Anderson, MO, along with grandchildren Todd Stout and wife Wendy, Bryan Hall and wife Sherri, Angie Vick and husband Travis, great grandchildren Samantha Stout, Jessica Stout, Cody Hall, Madison Hall, Ike Wortman, Sidney Graham, Chelsea Farmer, Colter Vick and Landon Vick and great great grandchildren Bryar Wortman and Brenlee Wortman. Also surviving is her sister, Betty Snodgrass Grady of El Reno, OK.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stout are 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, at the Splitlog Baptist Church near Anderson, Missouri, with Bro. Shan Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Banner Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Todd Stout, Bryan Hall, Ike Wortman, Travis Vick, Cody Hall and John Graham.
