Lourane Bates, 84, a longtime resident of Granby, died December 29, 2016.
Lourane was born May 4, 1932 the daughter of Harry Dean and Lula Rose Dean.
She was an avid crafter and quilt maker, but more than anything, she was a wonderful mother of six children, Grandma and Great Grandma of many. Lourane had 51 ½ years of marriage to Paul Allen Bates who passed December 15, 2012.
Lourane is survived by all six children; Machelle Bates-Hines, Joplin, Mo, Paul Dean Bates, Stark City, MO, Rod Bates, Granby, MO, Art Bates, Granby, MO, Cindy Bates-Ryan, Lower Lake, CA and Bill Bates, Joplin, MO.
The body has been taken for cremation and a celebration of her beautiful life will be held at a later date. Memorial flowers may be sent to the family at 814 S Greenwood Drive, Joplin, MO where she resided prior to her death.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO
