Ednamae McCumber

Ednamae McCumber, age 74 entered her Heavenly home at 1:33 pm, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Galena Nursing Center, following such a big battle, for such a small lady.

Ednamae was born June 8, 1947 in Columbus, Kansas. She was born to Doris Simpson. She was raised by her grandparents, Jim and Edna Hughes, Riverton, KS. She lived in Galena most of her life.

She graduated from Riverton KS High School and has been a Mother, Grandma, Memaw, also called Mama E. 








EdnaMae was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Tennessee Prairie Church, Galena. She enjoyed being a part of Secret Sister’s, and the time they spent together, and the love she had for each lady. Edna was very competitive at playing BUNKO and always enjoyed sending cards, no matter the season to all she knew and loved, and she felt blessed to be able to do so.

She married the love of her life, David Carl McCumber on October 7, 1994. He survives.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Fultz Newberry, Joplin, MO; and three step-children, Becky Reddin, Galena, Alicia Piland, Grove, OK, and David McCumber Jr, Scammon, KS area. An aunt, Sally Hughes, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Kenneth James Fultz, her mother, Doris Ilene Simpson, and her grandparents, Jim an Edna Hughes, one granddaughter, Tashia Brownfield, Two uncles, Jimmy Hughes, and Earl Allison and wife Joanne.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10:00 am at her home church in Galena, Tennessee Prairie

EdnaMae was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation.
