(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Gregory Lynn Alms passed away at his home on April 5, 2022, at the age of 68, after short battle with cancer.
Greg was born on February 21, 1954 in Joplin, MO, to the late Bobby Joe and Naomi (DeWitt) Alms. He spent most of his life in Joplin with a short time in Sarcoxie. He was the oldest of 4 children being the only boy with 3 sisters.
He graduated from Sarcoxie high School in 1972, where he was the senior class president and played on the football team. He started his career with Pillsbury in 1977 and worked from the ground floor up until he was promoted to the 2nd Shift Facility Coordinator. He Celebrated his retirement in 2009 after 32 years of service. In 1991 he met his life partner, Debra, and after 26 years of living with each other, they married on July 17, 2017. While Greg did not have any children of his own, he did have a daughter of the heart from Debra.
Greg loved working on his farm that he bought when he was 19 years old. He was proud of his angus cattle that he and Debra Raised. He also loved to fish with his family, spending time with his nieces and nephews and watching them grow up.
Greg is survived by the love of his life, his wife Debra (MacPhee) Alms; heart adopted daughter, Diana (Tommy) McHenry; granddaughters, Tealar and Ashlynn Scott; sisters, Angie (Steve) Shields of Stotts City, Marsha (John) Hutchinson of Tenn., Beth Alms of Neosho; numerous Nieces, Nephews, their children, and other loving relatives and friends.
