Leo Cooper

Leo Junior Cooper, age 86, of Seneca, Missouri, entered into rest at 1:22 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at his home. He was born September 1, 1935, in Paola, Kansas, to the late John O. and Anna Mae (Lewis) Cooper. 

Leo was raised by his foster mother, Della Sallenger, from two years of age. He was a United Air Force veteran serving as an Airman First Class for 22 months in Guam. 









On March 10, 1956, he married Dovie Marie Caywood. She preceded him in death on September 4, 2014. Leo was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Neosho

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Brown, and her husband, Charles of Seneca, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eigthteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to his wife, Dovie, his daughter Diana Jones, son, Steve Cooper, and granddaughter, Heather Cooper, preceded him in death.

Under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery in Seneca. Rev. Jarel Burnside will officiate. Grant, Gabriel, Gannon Smith, Robert and Jeremiah Steverson, and Wyatt Tilton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers will include Caleb, Caden, and Carson Meisner, and Brandon Gonzalez. The funeral home will be open for viewing from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022.
