Jeremy Murphy

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Jeremy Thomas Murphy of Anderson, MO, age 47, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. Jeremy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. Jeremy lived life to the fullest, especially surrounded by those that he loved.

Jeremy was born to Tom Murphy and Brenda Gordon on November 12, 1975, in Joplin, MO. Jeremy was raised in Anderson, MO where he attended school.

Jeremy started his love for the outdoors at a young age, with his little brother Michael in tow, whether it was building forts, swimming, riding three wheelers or riding bikes, the two were outside until dark or Mom yelled that it was dinner time. During his school years Jeremy was an outstanding athlete excelling in both football and track. After school Jeremy went on to become a talented mason and electrician. He advanced his career by obtaining his Journeyman Electrician License.

Jeremy became a loving father to Treyton on March 24, 1998, and to Jace on October 5, 2000. Jeremy and his boys loved spending time together in the outdoors. Jeremy, Treyton, and Jace spent countless hours whitetail hunting up on the hill, duck hunting on the big pond, fishing Grand Lake, and riding their mountain bikes together. Anyone that knew Jeremy, knew how proud he was to have passed his passion for the outdoors on to his boys.

On May 3, 2017, Jeremy married Cynthia in Alamosa, CO. Jeremy loved living in Colorado with Cynthia where they spent time hiking, fishing, and enjoying nature. Jeremy had ambitions to climb all the “14s.” He also rode his mountain bike all around, occasionally without exactly knowing the way back! Cynthia recalls dropping Treyton and Jeremy off at the Continental Divide not being entirely sure where or when they would find their way back down the mountain.

Through his marriage to Cynthia, he became a loving grandfather to Raelynn, Rylan, and Rocklynn. His three grandchildren loved fishing with their Papa Murphy.

Jeremy never did anything halfway, whether he was fixing a vehicle, wiring a house, training for a triathlon, or helping others he was all in until the job was done. Jeremy even competed in the Xterra Off-Road Triathlon National Championship in Utah. He was a charismatic and passionate man that never ceased to provide plenty of entertainment and laughter at gatherings with friends and family. Even though he was gone too soon, he lived more life than most.

Preceding him in death, his stepfather, Darrell Gordon, grandparents Jack and Betty Guinn, Gale and Ida Belle Thompson, and Charles and Ruby Murphy.

Jeremy leaves behind his wife, Cynthia of the home. Two sons, Treyton Murphy and wife Kierstan of Noel, MO, and Jace Murphy of Noel. Two stepsons, Clint James, and wife Brittnee of Owasso, OK and Kyle Johnson of Ketchum. Grandchildren, Raelynn, Rylan, and Rocklynn of Owasso. Mother, Brenda Gordon of Anderson.
