(From Clark Funeral Home)William “Bill” Dale Day, age 81, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born March 5, 1941, in Washburn, Missouri, the son of Walter and Irene (Towsend) Day.
He married Mona Ruth Pippen on August 19, 1961, in Newtonia, Missouri; she preceded him in death on February 28, 2022.
Bill was a lifelong area resident; he worked as the superintendent for the water filtration plant for the city of Neosho for fifty-four years. He loved being outdoors fishing, bailing hay, and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Sherri Adams and Heath Standlee; Kimberly and Joe Woods; grandchildren, Courtney Blanchard, Sheena (Chance) Wilson, Hunter (Chloe) Day, Kyla Woods; three step-grandchildren, Richard Adams, Jr., Kristy Burris, Deedra Walker; great-grandchildren, Madison Blanchard, Landon Wilson, Kaidyn Wilson, Phoenix Hazel, Autumn Day; sister Louise Payne. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law Richard Adams.
Visitation will be held from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri.
