Patty Gesin

Patricia McClendon Gesin, 60, McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, peacefully at home. Patty was born April 17, 1962, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Marcy and Bob McClendon as the fourth of five children. She graduated from Carthage Senior High (Carthage, MO) in 1980, and attended the University of Arkansas.

While attending college, Patty joined her sister Sherry, in the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, where she was affectionately nicknamed “Pearl." She and her four siblings were raised in a Catholic family making fond memories in their Carthage homes and at Table Rock Lake. 








Patty met her husband, Allen Gesin, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and then moved to McAlester, where they built a home and spent 28 loving years. Together they cared for many furry friends and enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii with family.

Patty is survived by her husband, Allen Gesin, son, Drake Clark (Kourtney), Pryor, OK, son, Chip Clark, Fort Collins, CO, and daughter, Abby Clark (Nik) Oklahoma City, OK. She is survived by her parents, Marcy and Bob McClendon, Rogers, AR, four grandchildren; Kenzie Clark, Drew Clark, Albanor Bytyqi, and Arden Bytyqi, four siblings; Debbie Metcalf (Pete), Carthage, MO, Julie Bay (Ron), New Lenox, IL, Sherry Hall (Frank) Little Rock, AR, Mike McClendon (Trish), Richmond, VA, her loving Aunt Terry Holtzapple (Boerne, TX), and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Living Word Church or church of your choice.








A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at The Living Word Church, 103 West Taylor Ave, McAlester, OK at 11:00 a.m. Additionally, a Celebration of Patty’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Cherry’s Woodshed on the Square, 311 South Main Street, Carthage, MO from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
