(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Mr. James Edward Daniels, 90, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center.
James was born on Friday, January 6, 1933 in Spokane, Missouri, to the union of the late Herbert Dean and Ella Mae (Kirby) Daniels.
On September 29, 1950 he was united in marriage to Martha Glidewell. Together they shared twenty-nine years until her passing on April 20, 1980.
For many years James worked as a transmission mechanic. He enjoyed playing musical instruments and race cars. Later in life he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; children, Jeanette Chodrick, James Daniels and Shirley Carol; and brother Roger Daniels.
James is survived by his children, Mark Daniels (Nita) of Dallas, Texas, Lorene Taylor, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Ann Thomas (Jerry), of New Castle, Oklahoma, David Daniels (Carol) of Gilmer, Texas, Kim Long (Adrian) of Sarcoxie, Missouri, and Debbie Daniels of Bethany, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Daniels are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Pastor Don Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
