James Buck

James Allen Buck, 72, Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 15, 2023, at his home with family by his side. 

James was born February 10, 1951, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Otis A. Buck and Juanita Maurine (Jackson) Buck. He was a 1969 graduate of Carthage High School. He then received his bachelor's degree in political science from Missouri Southern State College. James worked as a buyer in the petroleum industry. 

He married Rebekah Mills on February 14, 1992, in Van Buren, Arkansas.






 

James was an avid car fanatic and enjoyed all the classic cars including his Alfa Romeo Spider. He loved traveling across the country to attend car shows. He was a member of the Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Rebekah Buck; his children, Ginger Keller (Christopher), Carthage, Rachel Kern (Michael), Bixby, Oklahoma, and Matthew Wagoner (Barbi), Tulsa, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Haley George (Weston), Carthage, Blake Kern, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Alexis Kern, Bixby, Oklahoma; and a sister, Judith “Judy” Sweet, Joplin, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Maurine Buck; and a sister, Joan Leeds.








Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Private family inurnment will follow at Williams Cemetery, Reeds, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Friday, February 17, 2023, at Knell Mortuary.
