(From Parker Mortuary)Linda Kay Cartright, 81, of Joplin, MO passed away on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 in her home peacefully and comfortably.
Linda was born August 29th, 1941 in Joplin, MO to Austin and Vivian Long also of Joplin. Linda graduated from Joplin High School in 1959.
She married the love of her life, Gary Cartright, on April 2nd, 1960. Linda along with her daughter (Pam) owned and operated Joplin Lighting Center for 12 years before selling and retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. She loved helping in children’s church.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Gary Cartright.
She is survived by her two sisters, Judy Bingham (Bing) and Ruth Roper (Hal); three children, Pam Kuehn (Charlie), Kevin Cartright, Jeff Cartright (Jeanette); five grandchildren, Ashley Hackett (Lavelt), Alex Watson (Tristan), Hannah Hymer (Mike), Grace Scott (Drew), Katherine Cartright; and six great-grandchildren, Dominique Bradley, Daunte Bradley, Davien "Bub" Watson, Beau Watson, River Hymer, and Grayson Scott.
She will be missed by her family and friends new and old. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Becky Naugle and Tammy Dunn her amazing caregivers and her Gentiva Hospice nurses.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO. Interment to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17th, 2023 at Parker Mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
